Soviet-Ukrainan 1970s-1980s parade uniform for a captain of the Soviet airforce. This uniform type was introduced in 1969 as a replacement for the M1958 parade uniforms and were dark blue with golden shoulder boards and sky blue piping.
The shoulder boards are golden with one blue stripe and carry four small metal star each for the rank of captain. The collar tabs,
which are sky blue felt, carry the winged propeller insignia of the air force. The buttons are two-piece, dated 1970s.
The uniform holds a cold-war array of awards including the 1978 medal for 60th anniversary of the armed forces, the 1982 medal for 1500th anniversary of Kiev and two classes of Irreproachable service medals for 10 and 15 years of service. On the wearers left is the Order for Service to Socialist Motherland III class, yet the award mounted appears to be a copy. The pilot wing is for Navigator, 2nd class, and the graduation badge is the 1961 type for intermediate military school. On the collar is an GDR - Soviet friendship badge. Since the mentioned order is a copy and no documentation is present, the uniform is to be considered putative yet still regulationwise correct.
The size of the uniform is 48 russian or 38US. The visor cap is a size 56. The uniform comes with matching dark blue, sky blue piped trousers for wear with shoes. The belt is not included, but recommended as a separate and optional purchase. Overall, the uniform is in great condition but shows some wear from time and storage.
